Karan Mohla is a General Partner at B Capital where he co-leads the South and Southeast Asia team. Karan has two decades of global financial sector experience and nearly 15 years in technology-focused venture investing. At B Capital, he has invested primarily in early-stage venture investments, including Sugar.fit, Turno, Nektar, Brik and Accacia, among others.
Before joining B Capital, Karan was a Partner and Executive Director at Chiratae Ventures (formerly IDG Ventures India), where he invested in more than 30 companies in the ecommerce, healthcare, SaaS/B2B, logistics, ed-tech, agri-tech and gaming sectors. These companies, which include FirstCry, Xpressbees, GoodGlam Group, HealthifyMe and CropIn , have cumulatively raised over $1B.
Prior to Chiratae Ventures, Karan worked with QVT Finance LP, a U.S. based hedge fund, and in the technology banking group at Jefferies & Company in Silicon Valley, where he was part of the founding team for the India office.
Karan was recognized as one of the 40 under 40 leaders by Business World Magazine and one of the 40 under 40 Alternate Investment Professionals by the Indian Association of Alternative Investment Funds (IAAIF).
Karan earned a BBA from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan and an MBA from INSEAD. He is based between Singapore and India.
